I'm not sure you have provided enough information to answer your question. What type of testing was positive for Strep A? Are you asking whether MRSA can give a false positive rapid test for Step A from a throat swab? To my knowledge there is no reported cross reaction. If this is the case, was a back-up culture for Gp A Strep negative. Please resubmit your question with a little more information on what tests were performed and the results.
