Help

I am looking for a simplified flow chart for biochemical identification of medically important gram negative isolates. Biochemical tests curently in our laboratory are Indole, urea, TSI, manitol, motility, citrate and lysine.
There are a couple of simplified flow charts published in Koneman's Color Atlas and Textbook of Diagnostic Microbiology 6th ed. 2006 (Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins), one for rapid ID of E. coli (p. 283) and the other for identifying enteric pathogens from stool (p. 285). An additional resource is Abbreviated Identification of Bacteria and Yeast; Approved Guideline (M35-A) 2002 available from CLSI http://www.clsi.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Home/Homecontent/Catalog12007final.pdf This document provides a series of microbial identification protocols that are designed to minimize the use of expensive,time-consuming laboratory tests, allowing timely reporting of accurate organism identification.
