After an extensive search, no commercial source of histopathologic material with coccidioides spp. or the dermatophytes was found. Unfortunately such preparations are difficult to obtain on a commercial basis, seemingly because of legal issues and ownership rights of the original tissues. One might be able to obtain a few slides from private or academic groups for education purposes. These locations can include laboratories that have heavy volumes of histopathologic material from ptients with coccidioidomycosis or those laboratories with interest in dermatopthology. Examples of such laboratories include Stanford Hospital Laboratory in Palo Alto, CA, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, or for Coccidioidomycosis, the Coccidioidomycosis Center of Excellence in Tucson, AZ.
