This is probably best determined by a discussion with the Pulmonologists who are collecting and submitting these types of quesitons to you laboratory. In general a descriptive identification of organisms isolated, as you mentioned in your question, with full identification of lower respiratory tract pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Beta-hemolytic Streptococci , Enteric GNR's and Pseudomonas aeruginosa would be the usual extent of identification.
