Help

I have an inquiry on a reference laboratory for an aktinomyces serology. Are you aware of such a laboratory in the USA or in Europe? In addition we would eventually like to perform a specific PCR for Aktinomyces.
I am not aware of any laboratories in the US still doing Actinomyces serologies. There may be public health labs in other countries that still have the antisera. One of the promising methods is amplified 16S ribosomal DNA restriction analysis. A publication in J Clin Microbiology 2001; 39:3555 by Dr. Val Hall describes this method. Other labs are sequencing the 16S RNA gene. Good luck with your studies.
