what are the current CLSI guidelines for screening for ESBL production amongst Pseudomonas and Acinetobacter?
Current CLSI recommendations for detecting and confirming ESBL-producing organisms apply only to E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella oxytoca, and Proteus mirabilis. Although Pseudomonas aeruginosa may produce OXA-type ESBLS and PER-type ESBLs (and rare other types), and Acinetobacter may produce PER-1 type ESBLs, no standardized screening methods have been published by CLSI.
